Lead Pastor Position



 Pastor Greg and Jeanette Gertz are currently serving at Lexington Baptist Church in an Interim status. They have been members since 2007. Dr. Greg pastored churches is California and Illinois before retiring here in Virginia close to family. They both sing in the choir at Lexington Baptist, work in Awana programs, and are active in men's and women's bible studies.

Pastor Glenn became the Worship Pastor at Lexington Baptist Church in the Fall of 2008. He is a graduate of Piedmont Baptist College (now Piedmontd International University) with an A.A. in Bible and a B.S. in Music Education.

His responsibilities at LBC include leading the Adult Choir, Handbell Choir, Service planning, and assisting in various other ministries and administrative duties.  His goal at Lexington Baptist Church is to maintain a biblically supported and balanced music program.  He desires people to worship in Spirit and in truth each time they meet together. (John 4:24).

Pastor Glenn and Mary were married at Lexington Baptist Church in January 2011 and have lived in Lexington for 3yrs.  He enjoys playing racquetball, working in the garden, and watching movies.  You can find Pastor Glenn on Facebook or Twitter as Glennird.  His e-mail address is gkuhar@centurylink.net.


Pastor Mike Dorsey and wife Marlene

Pastor Dorsey has served as the church's associate pastor since 2007. He also serves as director of the building project Generations Hall.   Pastor Dorsey recently graduated from Piedmont International University (formerly Piedmont Baptist College) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible with a minor in Church Education. He is currently working on a M.A. in Biblical Studies.

Pastor Dorsey and his wife Marlene, have three daughters, Analeigh, Sarah, and Abby.  Pastor Dorsey enjoys family, music, sports, relaxation and cinema.  Pastor Dorsey can be contacted through email at mdorsey@centurylink.net


Rachel Newhouse and husband Chuck

Rachel has been the secretary at Lexington Baptist for 5 years.  She helps support various programs of the church including preparing the weekly UpDate, paperwork processing, answering the phone, website maintance and other various ministries.

She and her husband Chuck, who is a Civil Engineering professor at VMI, have been married 20 years and work with the College & Career Sunday School class.  They are both graduates of Virginia Tech.  Chuck and Rachel  have two children -  Benjamin who is a 8th grader and Lydia who is in 5th grade.

Deacon Danny Hostetter and wife Sandy

Danny and his wife Sandy have been married over 35 years and have three adult children:  Shannon, Matt and Josh along with five grandchildren.  They have been at LBC for 21 years and Danny teaches the Fisherman adult Sunday School class.  Sandy works in the nursery and helps prepare the Lord's Supper each quarter.

Danny is a purchaser at the VMI Physical Plant. His hobbies include playing softball, football, basketball, bowling, horse shoes, laughing and having fun.

His favorite Bible verse is Joshua 28:15

Matt and Carolee Taylor

Deacon Matt Taylor and wife Carolee

Matt and his wife Carolee have been married over 7 years and have three daughters: Claire, Charlotte and Maci.  They have been at LBC for over a year. Carolee plays the piano for the Sunday worship services.

Matt works as a phone technician for Centurylink.  His hobbies include hunting, fishing and sports.

His favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6


Deacon Jim Williams and wife Melanie

Jim and his wife Melanie have been married over 27 years and have two sons: Townley and Daniel.  They have been at LBC for over four years and Jim is on the church Finance Committee and plays in the church orchestra.  Melanie is the church treasurer and also serves on the Finance Committee.

Jim works at Modine Manufacturing as the plant controller.  His hobbies include music (trump & bass guitar), gardening, shrimping, crabbing, fishing and duck hunting.
